I have a 4years and two months old Golf Plus 2.0TDI purchased new in May,2006. Two weeks ago, with no warning the car began to "shudder" on each gear change. I took it to the dealers (who had serviced the car from new) and within three hours they called to tell me that the gearbox was a write-off and would cost me around £4000 to replace! I would welcome comments on how to proceed in a fight with the dealership and VW over who pays. John B.
